April 8, 2012

Awesome day, 6 of us went to Sifah beach, a 45-60 minute drive from Muscat. It’s a public beach that is accessed by traveling over a few mountains. The road is paved but with some sharp turns and steep grades. We passed through two little villages, very rural, with goats everywhere, of every colour and hair length. People dressed in the traditional dress , men with the dishdashas and women in  brightly coloured flowered dresses wrapped around them. We saw so many goats roaming free, perched on everything and wandering over the road. There were herds of donkeys also roaming free on the road and in the areas near the road. The beach was awesome, water lovely and warm and a great sandy beach. Over to the far right there was a resort and near us was a restaurant where we ate Easter dinner on the beach, fish of course. I forgot my camera so no pictures. On the way home we passed through Mutrah and I spotted the fish Souk where I will go early some morning to see the catch they bring in, some quite exotic fish they say.
