Wednesday all
over again, time is flying by. Linda arrives here the 29th after she
finishes her BCIT Robotics course. She will be with me for 3 weeks then she
returns for graduation and to begin an electrical course. She will be home for
Christmas when her course is over. It’s a condensed 2 year program in 6 months.
Tonight we
went to Majan beach again for snorkeling, swimming and supper. Someone brought
a charcoal burner and we had a hot fire very quickly. We had kebabs, roasted
meat, lots of dips and veggies, fruit and chocolate. When snorkeling I saw two puffer fish swimming by, deflated with their sharp spines flattened to their bodies. The water wasn’t so great
for snorkeling since visibility was low, for it was like soup with lots of
plankton and algae. However that soup was very phosphorescent and after dark
when we went in for a swim it was amazing, bursts of green sparks and flashes
in the water and on us when we came out of the water. Some Omani young men were at the beach playing
the drums and singing. Very nice but as usual it was only fellows, the girls as
usual were absent.

This lady doing the photo shoot on the beach (next to the woman in the abya) where we were swimming isn't doing anything to improve the Arabic opinion of Western women. |
